About NORTHSTAR

NORTHSTAR orginially started as a “wilderness ~ education” program from my house in 1999 and then in 2001, with the help of a friend who was a businessman, Scott Moore, we were able to purchase the current lodge, with blessings from locals, from TEPCO (Tokyo Power Company).  Originally NORTHSTAR was primarily a “camp” that was for young people but now it has evolved into an outdoor school and lodge that desires to reach people at the deepest level.  I believe that man is designed for full life, abundant life.  That man was designed for adventure, friendship, and holistic living.  Regardless of gender, age, faith, or ability, if man does not seek adventure, seek meaningful living ~ truly he or she will loose hope, joy, and purpose.  Our moto:  Real Adventure ~ Real Life: drives us as we serve our guests, serve the community and serve each other.  I hope that our adventure, lodge, and staff exceed your expectation.

Man is designed for adventure, for full life and we believe that everyone, regardless of creed, age, gender, faith, ability is entitled to experience the stoke they are designed for.  We have had people of all walks of life, faith, and perspective come to NORTHSTAR and enjoy our hospitality, experience our adventure, and share our joy.  As you read our core values, I hope that as we respect others and their values, that others will respect ours.  Thanks for showing interest in NORTHSTAR.

As you can see our core value statement ends out to be an acrostic.. CHALLENGE.  Challenge is a a key part of adventure and within that word is the word change … which is also our first core value…
