The Hill Climb is over and Norikura is mostly empty again and most of the NORTHSTAR staff are getting ready for a little break before we start the fall season. I have been working on a new brochure for NORTHSTAR and the Halenoa Lodge.

Fuji, MTB, ふもとっぱら, アブラカタブラ, アブラカダブラ, フモトッパラ | No Comments[jp]先週末はダン、ヤマケンと自分お3人で日本マウンテンバイクガイド協会の設立を記念したイベントRide&Meetに行ってきました。12社30名のガイドが忍従から集まり100名のマウンテンバイカーをガイドし、一緒にライディングを楽しみました。前日の土曜日はガイドたちが集まり、マウンテンバイカーをどうやって増やし、どうやってより良いサービスを提供するかといた濃いー話しを夜遅くまでしていました。翌日のの日曜日は全くの初心者から経験者までをガイドしました。ふもとっぱらのバイクパークは富士山の麓にあり、素晴らしいトレイルと当日の最高のの天気に恵まれました。
写真はそのイベントからのものです。ノーススターは後少しだけスノーボードモードですが、今シーズンも皆さんのお越しを待ちしております。イベントも企画中です！[/jp][en]
This last weekend Dan, Ken and I went to the first annual national JAMGA (Japan Mountain Bike Guide Association) event. The event was a huge success with about 30 guides from all over Japan guiding and riding with over 100 Mt. Bikers. Saturday night the guides spent time hanging out and discussing the MTB community and how we can serve guests better and then on Sunday we guided many bikers from first timers to experienced riders. The bike park at Fumotoppara which is at the base of Mt. Fuji and the trails in that area are great and the weather was also amazing. Here are a few photos that I took on that day. We are looking forward to riding with you again here in Norikura this year. Please check out event’s page for more info about upcoming events.

This bike comes with Magic Link and it provides great climb it runs like sticking on down hill trails. Light but Kona like strong frame. 150mm suspension and the geometry give you not only great riding but also “play-ablility”. It would be the best bike for Japanese Trails. [/en]

[en]Our digger staff went up to the Spring Park which is located at the bottom of the Kamoshika Lift in front of the Sanbondaki Restaurant to start shaping and setting items for the spring park. Today our staff got some of the items installed including the butter box, the 10m box and they got the kicker shaped. We hope you will come ride with us during Golden Week. Seiya and I went up yesterday to have a look and took a few photos of the snow cat working on the kicker. It looks really good. Tomorrow our digger crew will start shaping and installing the items for the park and we will post some new photos each day of the building process. Japan Mountain bike Guide Association

2007年秋にトレイルストアの和田さんの呼びかけでノーススターで最初のガイドミーティングが行われて依頼、ガイドたちが親交を深め、議論を重ね、協会設立の運びとなりました。まだまだ始まったばかりで様々な議論も同時進行中ですが、ホームページを見て頂くと、全国にこんなにガイドがいるのかと驚くと思います。是非これらのガイドを使って安全なマウンテンバイクライディングを楽しんで下さい。
以下は昨秋のガイドミーティングでのスナップ。[/jp][en]It sounds so sudden though Japan Mountain bike Guide Association (JAMGA) is established today.
Since we had 1st Guide Meeting here at NORTHSTAR in 2007 with the leadership of Wada-san from The Trail Store, we have discussed so many things and finally we started JAMGA. We are discussing many things still though if you look at the homepage, you would be amazed that there are so many guides in Japan. Please use those guides to enjoy your mountain bike life.

今週の乗鞍はすごいです。先週までは春の天気でしたが、今週はかなりの雪が積もりました。場所によっては１m以上です。

The last few days have been simply amazing here in Norikura-Kogen. We had a little bit of a warm stretch until Tuesday and then it just started dumping again. In places over 1m in the ski resort. I went out for a little “Powder Shoot” with one of our instructors named Daniel from Finland and had a great time in the snow. Bluebird with lots of fresh powder always makes for some good photos. Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday.
