Today was the second day I guided with some boys from the Matsumoto area and we had a great time riding all over Norikura Kogen. Yesterday was a full day of trail riding and a short ice cream break in the afternoon and today was suppose to be a full day but we had to cut it short as a big thunder storm moved in and it rained after lunch. The kids really rock it on their bikes though.

4/21 Krabi Climbing

One of our staff visited Krabi in Thailand.[/en]
[jp]辺りは岩、岩、岩…そして岩。現地の方から欧米の方まで多くのクライマーが訪れていました。[/jp][en]There are rocks and so many climbers from locals and all over the world.[/en]
[jp]ガイドを頼み、5.6から5.10をトップロープで登ます。[/jp][en]Hiring a local guide and try to climb 5.6 to 5.10 routes.[/en]
[jp]そして絵葉書のような景色。そのうちノーススターでツアーでも組みますか?![/jp][en]And look this beautiful scenery. Should NORTHSTAR create a climbing tour or something?![/en]
4/2 Last Riding?
By yamaken on April 2, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized | No Comments[jp]一昨日から続いた雪が収まり、スタッフは唯一動いている休暇村でライディング[/jp][en]It had been snowing for couple of days and staff went out for the last riding at Kyu-ka-mura, only one opens by this weekend.[/en]
[jp]コンディションはベストではないものの、重めのパウダーが楽しめました。[/jp][en]It was not the best condition though we could enjoy the heavy powder.[/en]
[jp]今シーズンの最後としてはかなりアリなライディングでした。[/jp][en]It was good enough for the last ride of the season.[/en]
4/1 Last Winter Backcountry

[/en]
[jp]今回は大阪のサーフ＆スノーボードショップCORALさんのバックカントリーツアーを行いました。スキー場上部(1900m)よりハイクアップ。[/jp][en]CORAL, Surf and Snowbaord shop in Osaka had backcoutry tours. Hiking up from the top of the ski resort(1900m).[/en]
[jp]ハイクアップ中は晴れていたため、かなり体温も上昇。そんなハイクでスタッフとゲストの間で人気なのはpatagonia Capieineシリーズ。ちなみに写真のスタッフが着用しているのはCapilene 2。通気性に優れ、汗をかいてもすぐ乾きます。さらにこの上に手のひらに収まるほど小さくまとまる、Houndiniを着ることで突然の風雪にも対応。[/jp][en]It was fine and our body temparature went up. At those hiking situations, patagonia Capilene Series are so popular among our guests and staff. The staff in the picture wears Capilene 2. They are breathable and if you get sweat, it would dry so fast. Also you can wear Houndini over so that you can protect yourself from the wintd and sow when you hike.[/en]
[jp]今回は2500m付近までハイクし、位ヶ原山荘側のボウルをライディング。[/jp][en]We hiked up to 2500m high and rode in the bowl of Kuraigahara Hut side.[/en]
[jp]お昼は位ヶ原山荘にて。[/jp][en]We had lunch at Kuraigahara Hut.[/en]
[jp]その後上り返して、尾根まで向かう予定が、悪天候のためツアーコースに戻り、シークレットスポットでのナチュラルハーフパイプをライド。[/jp][en]After the lunch, we planned to hike back up to the ridge. But since it was getting bad weather, back up to the t our course and rode a natural hlaf pipe at the secret spot.[/en]
[jp]…とシーズン最後にもかかわらず、コンディションも悪くなく、楽しいライディングになりました。[/jp][en]…even though it was the end of the season, the condition was not too bad. We enjoyed the ride.[/en]
[jp]ところが日曜の夜から雪が降り続け、冬に逆戻り、20センチの積雪。休暇村のトリプルリフトが開いているおかげで、シーズン最後のパウダーが楽しめてます。乗鞍はまだまだスプリングバックカントリーのほうも楽しめます。[/jp][en]But it has been snowing since Sunday evening and we are back in the winter. Having 20cm of snow. Since Kyuka-mura is still open, we are enjoying last powder run. Also you can enjoy Spring Backcoutry Tour in May.[/en]
3/15 Backcountry

[jp]頂上付近の尾根まで約4時間のハイク。ここ最近は気温も高く、積雪もほとんどないので、かなりパックされてハイクしやすくなっています。[/jp][en]4 hours hike to the ridge around the peaks. It has been warm and had no snow, the trail was packed and it was easy to hike up.[/en]
[jp]天気もかなり良く、お昼近くの気温は標高2800m付近で摂氏2度。[/jp][en]It was a great weather and tempeature went up to 2℃.[/en]
[jp]バーンの状況は表面がクラストしてかなり硬く、気持ちよさそうに見えても、あまり良い状況とはいえないところ。ほとんど5月の春山です。[/jp][en]The pictures look good but the condition was not that good. The snow was hard and crusty. It is almost like a spring mountain in May.[/en]
[jp]それでも良さげなショットをいくつか載せておきます。[/jp][en]But I just put some good looking shots here.[/en]
2/23 Taste of Hawaii

This picture is beers. German beer, Dutch beer and Hawaiian Kona beer are here. You might be reminded of Kona Coffee for Hawaiian drinks but there are also coffee tasting beers. Please try them at NORTHSTAR.[/en]
2/21 Other than snowboarding

[jp]プログラムとしてはスノーシュー。こちらは先日の180キャンプでのひとコマ。凍った善五郎の滝を見るのは圧巻です。[/jp][en]As a program, snow shoeing is it. This is from180 camp on the other day. Looking at flozen Zengoro fall is amazing experience.[/en]
[jp]他の活動としては毎週火曜日夜に行われている地域の方向けの英会話クラス。毎週レベル別に楽しいクラスが行われています。[/jp][en] As a local activity, we offere English class everey Tuesday. We are having fun with games, etc.[/en]
2/20 Norikura Bomber Jam

[jp]総勢50名を超える参加者が集まり、予選は白熱したセッションが行われました。[/jp][en]Over 50 people registered the comp and Jam style qualifier was heated up.[/en]

[jp]10名の予選通過者が午後の決勝を戦いました。ノーススターからはダニエルが一人予選を通過し決勝に進みました。[/jp][en]10 competiters made the fina. From NORTHSTAR, only Daniel made it.[/en]
[jp]ノーススターではホットチョコレートとホットドッグ、そして勝手な盛り上がりで大会をサポートしました。[/jp][en]We supported the comp with providing hot chocolates, hot dogs and crazy cheering.[/en]
2/14 BC Jump Session

[jp]結構無茶ができます。[/jp][en]… you can try tricks that you cannot do usually and go big.[/en]
[jp]でも、ちゃんと立たないと、こうなります。[/jp][en]But if you do not stick the landing, you would be like this.[/en]
